To facilitate the understanding and the practice of metadata standards
for thematic projects and to meet the specific requirements of Chinese
collection so as to be connected with international standards, the Metadata
Architecture and Application Team (MAAT) has been translating international
metadata standards into Chinese. Scholars and experts in Taiwan are
involved in examining and revising the Chinese versions. MAAT is expecting
to cooperate with international metadata standard developers in the
future so that the requirements of Chinese collection could be included
in standards. Up to the present, the following are standards with authorization:
CDWA, EAD, HISPID, MIDAS and TEI Lite.
