The section has collected related softwares which edit, convert, verify, publish and manage metadata documents from metadata standard developers, organizations and projects. Tools can be categorized according to their functional attributes. The content in this section includes:

• Document Type Definition. DTD
  Markup Languages, such asSGML or XML are employed to describe the composition structure of specific kinds of documents. DTD provides an accurate grammatical regulation.
• Creation Tools: mainly support the tools that automatically produce or edit metadata SGML or XML documents.
• Validators: SGML／XML document parsing and verifying tools.
• Conversion Tools: converting one metadata format into another.
• Publishing Tools: the web pages nowadays are presented mainly in the form of HTML. The visual editing function it offers cannot indicate the hierarchical and complicated structure and content. This section includes tools that help SGML or XML be presented or printed, such as regulation languages (XSL, DSSSL), and Stylesheets.
