The purpose of this project is to digitize the Taiwan Soutokufu Archives (1895-1945), the Taiwan Soutokufu Senbaikyoku Archives (1897-1945), and the Taiwan Provincial Governor Office Archives (the most significant Executive archives after World War II in Taiwan). This project is not only to scan the three kinds of archives into image files, but also set up the Metadata System according to the international standard. Until now this project has completed the archives and image files of Metadata System of Taiwan Soutokufu and Taiwan Soutokufu Senbaikyoku, the development of the Metadata system of Taiwan Provincial Governor Office Archives, the name authority files system of the Japanese Occupied Period Archives, and is continuously undertaking the development of institute authority control system of Taiwan Provincial Governor Office Archives. This project is currently undertaking the application of digital archives in digital materials. It is estimated to publish the Collection of Taiwan Urban Development Maps during the Japanese occupation period in 2004. Working documents contain the records when MAAT works on analyzing metadata with the staffs of the thematic group. They include worksheets, controlled vocabulary lists, analysis reports, system requirement specifications, guidelines, meeting reports, and misc.
